Have you checked www.windowsazure4e.org? You can already do this using eclipse

Cool, I didn't know about that. Suppose I should add that these steps are also for those who don't use Eclipse. Have you used it to actually deploy to Azure? If so, how was the experience?

Hey Karsten, along with the Eclipse tools that our Interop Team commisioned, windowsazure4e, also on www.interoperabilitybridges.com/.../ which we worked with Soyatec to buildHave you used our command line tools? Doesn't need VS either, you can get it at www.interoperabilitybridges.com/.../We also have the Windows Azure Companion that will quickly get you a developer environment for any of the popular CMS and OSS items, customizable too, without the need for VS, www.interoperabilitybridges.com/.../More stuff at http://azurephp.interoperabilitybridges.comWe're iterating on this and have new versions coming very soon. Let me know if you have any suggestions on how we can do better and improve this.

Jas -- Nice! These are a great resource. I'd definitely recommend these. Especially because this project is an ongoing project with a codeplex project, as opposed to what I did, which was more of a one off solution to the problem.

Turns out there are issues with the Codeplex Command Line tools for PHP when running PHP version 5.3. As such, I would NOT recommend using this tool if you are trying to deploy PHP version 5.3, but instead use my methodology, which use webpi.exe.
